Mocks Marked!

A happy little achievement – I marked my Y11 Mock papers! Hurrah!

I have a set 3/5 Year 11 group, who are a C/D borderline group. They sat a WJEC Reading Paper and Writing Paper last week, after 9 teaching weeks on exam prep.

Teaching the unit 1 and 2 exam prep is my favourite thing to teach. That’s right – it really is. I can hear you all gasping in the back there – ‘What about classic literature or poetry’ I hear you cry. Well, sure – but the exam is my favourite.

Why?

Well, teaching for the exam is the most enjoyable for me because I can easily measure their progress, the pupils can see the realistic value in it and you can make it completely current by looking at texts that deal with that week’s, or even day’s, news. Of course you can do much of that when teaching them poetry or literature, but I prefer the non-fiction texts.

Pat-on-the-back and well done to me for getting the papers marked this weekend! Now, off for a cuppa tea :)
